Monsoon Letters
An intimate rain-season editorial in coastal Maharashtra
Inspired by the rain-washed verandas of Alibaug and South Mumbai

Monsoon in coastal Maharashtra carries a rare, reflective intimacy. Soft diffused overcast light pours through wooden-framed windows, while the scent of wet earth and wild jasmine fills the open corridors.
This visual story strips away ceremonial spectacle in favor of human proximity. We documented the couple exchanging personal handwritten letters on deckle-edge paper before welcoming twenty close friends for an unscripted veranda celebration.
The photographic palette moves through cool slates, deep moss greens, and warm incandescent lamplight, capturing the poetry of rain on wet stone and the unforced laughter of shared tea.
“The rain became our favorite guest. The stillness of those frames captured exactly who we are when nobody else is in the room.
